What is Inner Line Permit (ILP)?
ILP is mandatory for all visitors as Adi Kailash is located near the Indo-Tibet border in a restricted area.
Required Documents for ILP Application
Valid Government ID
Valid Government ID (Aadhaar/Passport/Voter ID)
Passport Size Photos
2-3 Passport size photos (recent colored)
Medical Fitness Certificate
Medical Fitness Certificate from MBBS doctor
Police Verification
Police Verification Certificate (not older than 15 days)
Eligibility Criteria & Restrictions
✓ Eligible Persons
- Indian citizens aged 7-70 years eligible
- Medically fit for high altitude travel
- Valid Indian identification documents
✗ Not Eligible
- Foreign nationals NOT allowed
- Persons below 7 years or above 70 years
- Individuals with serious medical conditions
Step-by-Step Application Process
Gather Required Documents
Collect all necessary documents including ID proof, medical certificate, photos, and police verification. Ensure all documents are current and valid.
Visit SDM Office Dharchula
Go to the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) office in Dharchula with original documents and photocopies. Our team can assist you with this process if you book through us.
Submit Application Form
Fill out the ILP application form completely and accurately. Submit it along with documents and pay the processing fee (approximately ₹100 per person).
Wait for Processing
The permit typically takes 2-3 working days to process. You'll need to stay in Dharchula during this time for verification and approval.
Receive Your ILP
Once approved, collect your Inner Line Permit from the SDM office. Keep it safe - you'll need to show it at multiple checkpoints during your journey!
